This data set contains experiments using a quasi-two-dimensional shear apparatus to shear assemblages of discs as an analog for fault gouge. Measurements of pulling force, displacement, and velocity show that the slip behavior of combinations of grains can vary based on the size of grains present and their relative abundance. Additionally, we include two videos of experiments that capture slip events, and images of the apparatus and the grains.
