Matching pairs of tensile fractured samples

dataset
posted on 2023-08-22, 15:51 authored by Joshua BerlinskiJoshua Berlinski, William MeekerWilliam Meeker

Microscope images of matching fractured surfaces for 10 pairs of SS-440C steel rods broken under tension. Each pair was imaged 5 times each by 3 separate operators, with a repetition for a pair including 6 images for each of the base and tip surfaces.

The data can be used for various image processing exercises, including automated matching of the fractured surfaces. With multiple repetitions and operators, this data can also be used to analyze source of variation for the measurement system used on the samples.
