Phenotypic and genotypic data from DH lines of the Iowa Stiff Stalk Synthetic (BSSS) maize population.
These data set (phenotypic and genotypic data) can be used in the genetics and plant breeding area. Currently, many projects have been developed using analyzes that associate the phenotype of interest with the genotype. Thus, it allows identifying possible regions of the genome that have the greatest effect on the trait. So, based on these data sets, it is possible to associate the phenotype of the DH lines, derived from the Iowa Stiff Stalk Synthetic (BSSS) maize population, with data from molecular markers (single nucleotide polymorphisms - SNPs) extracted from the genome of the DH lines. Furthermore, molecular characterization, genetic diversity and relationships of the DH lines in each reciprocal recurrent selection cycle of the BSSS maize population breeding program might be performed. The phenotypic data set represent the field perfomance of the DH lines for Male Flowering (mfd - days), Female Flowering (ffd - days), Anthesis-Silking Interval (asi - days), Plant Height (ph - cm), Ear Height (eh - cm), Tassel length (ts - cm), Primary Tassel Tranches (nb - number) and Flag Leaf Angle (fla - Degrees from vertical) traits. On the other hand, the genotypic data set are SNPs markers based on the Diversity Arrays Technology sequencing (DArT-seq) method.
