Joshua L. Rosenbloom is a Professor of Economics and Chair of the Department of Economics at Iowa State University. He is also a Research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research (Cambridge, MA). He joined Iowa State University in 2015, when he was appointed as Chair of the Department of Economics. From 1988 until 2015 he was on the faculty at the University of Kansas. During that time he served as Associate Vice Chancellor for Research & Graduate Studies from 2006 to 2012, and as Interim Dean of Graduate Studies during the Fall of 2011. From 2012 to 2014, he Directed the National Science Foundation’s Science of Science and Innovation Policy Program, managing about $6 million in competitive research awards each year, and working to create an interdisciplinary community of scholars. He earned his B.A. degree from Oberlin College in 1981, and his Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University in 1988.
